Quiet
Although they do want to play from time to time, Shih Tzus are remarkably peaceful. This may seem a little counter-intuitive as many other small breeds of dogs tend to be rather loud. The Shih Tzu, however, will mostly be quietly awaiting attention from you. While they will bark at the delivery person at the door, they are not watchdogs. So, you don’t have to worry about constant yelping at that squirrel that lives in the tree.
Versatile
Because their primary trait is being a companion dog, they are adaptable to many different home situations. From those living alone to those with large families. Whether you move around a lot or have been living in the same home for generations, a Shih Tzu will quickly adapt because that is what they are bred to do.
