Apart from Thug of war here are some other ways to keep your Shih Tzu Happy:
1. Foresee the basic needs of Shih Tzu:
Most of their needs are the same as those of any other dog. A high-quality diet, access to fresh water at all times, regular health care, exercise, training, attention and taking into account certain characteristics of the breed that they require some special care.
2. Get your Shih Tzu accustomed to being neat as a child or as soon as possible:
Shih Tzu has a lot of hair, so he must learn to accept a grooming routine. Pay special attention to their faces. Clean the corners of their eyes with a damp cloth or a piece of cotton.
3. Bathe Your Shih Tzu frequently:
A bi-weekly bath is ideally followed by careful drying at low temperatures. Remember to eliminate tangles and mats before bathing your Shih Tzu. Once you wet it a tangle or mat will be very difficult to remove.
4. Consider making haircuts:
Many Shih Tzu owners choose to take it to a hairdresser regularly to keep the coat short and make it easier to groom. This reduces the time you will spend cleaning
5. Take care of your Shih Tzu’s eyes:
The breed has very large eyes and the small snout does not provide any protection, so it can be easily injured. If you notice redness, excessive tearing you should take it to the veterinarian immediately.
If the veterinarian determines that he has a corneal abrasion or a scratch he will prescribe topical antibiotic drops or an ointment to prevent infections and avoid complications.
